I have emails and contracts, promises and lies, all saved.
We were paid less than half of what we were promised. There were always "big problems" with money. We were never paid our travel expenses to Russia, even though in 8 emails, I was specifically promised that we would be paid as soon as we came to Russia. Oh, the email review w/the Orchid email address and the one right below it? Written by the daughter of the director, who attends school in Britain, or at least she SAID that she was going back there.
So very many lies. I sold everything I owned to get over to Perm and be a part of something that I thought was wonderful. Instead, we were denied the money that we spent, denied the money that we earned, and, initially, they wanted us to teach 12 hours a day. I still have those original schedules. To get back home, we had to borrow money from family and friends. Any "reviews" you read about Perm being fabulous, hit me up and I will send you copies of my contracts, videos I took, and email address of other teachers as well as students there.
We were very used by the school and the director and her daughter. Seriously, email me if you are even pondering this school. We were only given 5000 rubles a week, and we were supposed to be paid 11000 rubles a week. (Appx 30 rubles to a dollar, so don't think I was becoming a millionaire)
We were there from 8AM until 7PM with a 3 hour gap for lunch. I was shuttled between 2 schools 2 days a week. We were constantly being switched to teaching different groups of children.
The children and the staff, even the director herself told me that I was an excellent teacher, and that they loved having me there. I did not come to Perm to be a volunteer, but to set money aside to be able to continue my education.
This was impossible given the fact I was being handed about 200.00 USD per week. And that is WHEN we were paid. There were weeks that we were not paid. We had to ride them constantly to get paid. DON'T GO TO PERM. |
